2017 - A Retrospective
The festive period, a cosy, relaxing time to spend with friends and family and an opportunity to indulge in some, perhaps, not so healthy culinary delights. It's also a great time to look back and reflect on the moments and achievements that helped shape the year just past.
For 67 Degrees, 2017 has certainly been a rewarding one. Whilst building on our automotive expertise, the last 12 months have seen us grow in both customers and staff and become multiple industry award winners.
As we prepare to head into 2018, below we take a look back at a selection of our 2017 highlights. With words from our key people, these are the defining moments that made the last 12 months so satisfying.

February - 1st Site Live, Haven Motors
Possibly the biggest moment of our short history came in February, which saw our first website delivered. Created for a local dealer in Sussex, Haven Motors, the client came to us looking for a refresh of their online offering.
A user-friendly platform which put the customer at the core and provides an intuitive browsing experience was at the heart of their requirements. Working closely with our client we created a website with a clean and crisp design that featured extensive search functionality. Whilst taking advantage of CAP data and Codeweavers finance calculators, this website gives potential customers a seamless avenue to discover their next car.
March - Establishing Our Home
Straight into the year and March saw us move into our first permanent home. Located just outside the heart of Brighton, our office has kept pace and allowed us to grow this year whilst becoming our central ‘hub’ to design, create and launch industry recognised, award-winning websites.
April - Big Motoring World - New Website Live
Big Motoring Worlds new website was undoubtedly the largest project to feature in our 2017 portfolio. Listed this year as number 6 in the Motor Traders Top 50 Independent Dealers, Big Motoring World employ over 300 members of staff and are one of the largest car supermarkets within the United Kingdom.
With this size of operation, web excellence is absolutely paramount. The task was clear; design, develop and build a fully bespoke online experience which was not only intuitive for Big Motoring Worlds customers but, was efficient to manage by the businesses staff from an administrative and stock management point of view, whilst delivering significant time saving and performance gains over their old website.
Launched in April of 2017, Big Motoring Worlds new website features class leading and in-depth functionality with customers being able to search by colour and vehicle specification to name but a few. The site also takes advantage of iVendi’s new finance widget providing customers with clear representative finance examples and the ability to generate finance quotes. Furthermore, customers are able to receive an instant online valuation for their vehicle using a bespoke vehicle valuation tool developed by us.
July - CarDealer Power Awards
The CarDealer Power awards saw our first nomination at an industry awards just four months after our launch. With companies nominated by dealers up and down the country, the awards pulled together the best of the automotive industry.
With the votes counted, we were honoured to be announced as finalists within the ‘Website Provider for Independent Dealers’ category. On the night, however, we went one better and picked up ‘Highly Commended’ status. Our first awards success and a precursor for what was to come later on in the year...
September - New Starter, Stuart
Strength in numbers was paramount in September as we welcomed the arrival of our first employee, Stuart Harvey. Stuart joined 67 degrees with a wealth of experience having worked in the Automotive industry for most of his career.
Hiring the right person to join our expanding team was crucial at such an early stage. We knew we wanted a marketing person to help add value to our existing customers and to look after our own brand identity. So having worked with Stuart previously we knew he ticked all the boxes. Stuart is Creative, ambitious and extremely passionate about helping our clients and we are very lucky to have him on the team.
October - Wirehive100 Awards
In October we went up against various digital agencies from across the south of England at the annual Wirehive 100 awards for our work with Big Motoring World. Having to pull together an extensive pitch for a panel of judges, we had to prove how the work we had put in place was making a significant difference to Big Motoring World. Presenting historical data in direct comparison with new data obtained since their new 67 Degrees provided website went live, we were able to demonstrate significant gains. The judges agreed and we were delighted to be shortlisted in the ‘Consumer Website of the Year’ and ‘Rebrand of the Year’ categories.
In attendance on the night with Big Motoring World themselves, we found ourselves finalists in the ‘Consumer Website of the Year’ and ‘Rebrand of the year’ categories. Being given ‘Finalist’ status for both awards was an achievement in itself, however, we were delighted to be called up on stage to collect the award for ‘Rebrand of the Year’. A truly unforgettable experience and an experience made even sweeter given the outstanding quality of work featured at the awards.

November - Used Car Awards
Fresh off the back of our award win and finalist status at the previous months Wirehive 100 awards, November saw two 67 Degrees customers recognised for their websites at the annual Used Car Awards. Designed to recognise and celebrate outstanding achievement within the industry, this year our customers, Big Motoring World and Premier GT both made it to the final five within the ‘Dealer Used Car Website of the Year’ category.
Up against strong competition for the award, Big Motoring World won the category overall with Premier GT finishing runner-up, receiving ‘Highly Commended’ status. Each categories finalists were judged by a panel of industry experts which was chaired by televisions own Mike Brewer. Each finalists website was extensively judged to the panels strict criteria, which not only adds a real sense of authenticity to the awards but also adds weight to the level of our client's achievements that night.

November - Achieving IMDA Approved Supplier Status
In November we were proud to announce that we had been granted Independent Motor Dealer Association (IMDA) approved supplier status. Developed as a platform for independent dealers across the UK to come together to form a collective voice, the association was formed against a backdrop of vast industry change.
Recognising that nurturing relationships and supporting the lifeblood of our industry is essential, the IMDA is something we had to be a part of. Every staff member at 67 Degrees has worked in the Automotive Industry for a number of years so we fully understand and appreciate the passion for change from the association’s members.

The Future - Into 2018
Whilst looking back on a satisfying year, we have both eyes firmly set on an exciting 2018. As we look ahead to welcoming new customers, we also have exciting developments and products to be rolled out throughout 2018.
Staying true to our ethos, whilst working on improvements and new product offerings, we will be dedicated to forging even stronger relationships with our existing clients as we work with our dealers to achieve their online potential - The new year promises to be a great and exciting one.

2017 has been a fantastic and memorable year. To wrap up our 2017 retrospective, below are the thoughts of our director, Laura Coleby.
"If someone would have said to me a year ago that within 9 months of putting our first website live we would have moved into a new office, employed our first person and won 3 awards, I wouldn't have believed them. For many of our customers joining 67 Degrees was seen as a risk. Most had been with their previous provider for a number of years and in some cases had never even heard of us. So I just want to say a huge thank you to each and every one of our customers for trusting us. We spent all of 2017 showing our customers that they made the right choice by joining us and we will continue to do so in 2018. We wish you a happy and prosperous new year."
