At the end of May, our very own Stuart Harvey will be taking part in the Edinburgh Marathon. Whilst he's a keen runner and has taken part in a few half marathons previously, this will be the first time that he's made the step up to the full marathon.

When we asked him why and how he got in to running he added, "having previously been the total opposite to the dictionary definition of 'fit and healthy', I got into running after being inspired to by my Dad, who himself has run marathons and Ironman's, and from there got bitten by the running bug to see how far and how fast I could push myself!"

Stuart will be running to support automotive industry charity, Ben. Ben is the Motor & Allied Trades Benevolent Fund and exists to support anyone who works directly in or is associated with the automotive industry. At current figures that means 800,000 of us. Whether a person is a dealer principal, part of the sales team or is a supplier offering services to the motor industry, Ben is a charity that somebody can call upon to support themselves and their dependents during times of need.

Providing tailored and holistic care and support services, Ben aim’s to focus on the main pillars of a person’s well being; financial, physical, mental and social. Anyone who has worked in the automotive industry has access to free, confidential support and advice which can be accessed through their extensive website, or by person, by reaching out to their dedicated support team. Furthermore, for those in later life, Ben also offers care centres and their award-winning retirement village for the more independent.

Stuart is going to be digging deep into the bag of motivation and strength whilst pounding the streets of Edinburgh come May 27th. It would mean so much to us if you could dig deep too and support this worthy cause.
