Lead Platform Engineer

I look after the platform that powers our websites at 67 Degrees. This covers everything from Infrastructure architecture to the platform software itself and everything in between. My official role is Lead Platform Engineer.

I’m a bit of a nerd that spends most of my free time coding or playing around with tech stuff! I’ve been a software engineer for the last 12 years and have worked in a variety of sectors including Charity, Music, Social, Insurance and now Automotive. I’m a big music fan and when working you can always find me wired up to mixcloud with a cup of tea!

First car: Audi A3
Favourite biscuit: Chocolate digestive
Fun fact: I used to make dance (trance) music before getting into software engineering.

Luke

Business Development Manager

Here at 67 Degrees my role is to locate and prospect potential clients and manage incoming enquiry. Taking them through the journey from pitch to preview of their new website or social campaign.

I prioritise and enjoy living an active lifestyle. I really love anything outdoors and definitely class myself as an adrenaline junkie. My two favourite hobbies are golf and snowboarding.

NB – If I ever meet you, I will ask you what you had for dinner the night before 😊

First car: A black Peugeot 206.
Favourite biscuit: It has to be a Caramel Digestive.
Fun fact: I was a child model and did modelling for Marks & Spencer.

Susie

Account Manager

My role at 67 Degrees is to keep our customers happy, inform them of the innovative technology we are working on, site visits, sending out treats, recommend and make changes to their sites, update them on the website performance and generally be on hand for whatever they need.

Mum of 2 gorgeous little boys and pawrent to 2 cats (although I would love a Dachshund). Both my children are car mad and used to think I sold cars for a living, however since bring-your-children-to-work day, they now think I buy cars for a living (not sure how they came to that conclusion). I love horse riding and going for pub lunches in and around Sussex. I started at 67 Degrees back in the shed days, so to see where we are now is amazing. I have loved every single second of it.

First Car: Citroen Saxo with a VTR body kit, blacked-out windows, twin exhaust, lowered to within an inch of its life and finished off with Playboy bunny car mats (I was so cool).
Favourite biscuit: Cookies – Choc chunk
Fun facts: I have jumped 12,000ft from a plane and I can sing Karaoke extremely badly!

Matt

Front-end Web Developer

My role at 67 degrees is to help ensure our platform runs smoothly by fixing issues and integrating exciting new features, all whilst taking advantage of the latest available technologies. I have been involved with web development for over 10 years having worked as both a front and back end developer in previous roles.

I have identical twin girls so much of my spare time is spent being the best Dad I can be, but where possible I enjoy running, cycling, playing the piano and the odd game of cricket.

First Car: Peugeot 206
Biscuit: Chocolate HobNob
Fun fact: In 2019 I cycled over 1000km across Europe – through 6 countries and over the Alps.

Laura

Founder & CEO

As CEO of 67 Degrees, my role is equally challenging and rewarding – and I love it! I began the business back in 2016 with co-founder Justin, having worked in the automotive industry for most of my career.

It’s now my job to make sure we have the best team assembled to deliver on our client’s values and objectives, and be the best at what we do! I love watching the businesses we work with grow and succeed with our support – and I’m often hands-on to ensure that happens. Our industry is constantly evolving, and keeping up with it is something I’m proud to keep doing.

Outside of work, I love spending time with friends and family, walking my dog Phil (when it’s not raining), watching my son play football or golf, and zipping up to London to see a West End show. Wicked is my favourite!

First car: A Ford Fiesta that I had for all of 3 months before changing it for a Vauxhall Corsa on finance at 26.9% APR with GAP, Warranty and Paint Protection. They saw me coming!
Favourite biscuit: That’s a tough one, but it’s got to be a McVities Caramel Digestive.
Fun fact:  I’ve shared a stage with Jason Donovan and Basement Jaxx

Justin

Lead Front End Developer

My role in the business sees me manage the tech-side of the business, such as our bespoke software platform to ensure the smooth launch of sites, product integration, data feeds and associated processes. Although I’m still known to get my hands dirty by building websites from time to time!

Outside of work, I love being a dad and spending time with family. I have a real passion for cycling and cars, having built engines with my dad when I was a kid. Funnily enough, it’s my dad that inspired me into the world of computing and I haven’t looked back.

Working within the automotive industry has enabled me to enjoy motorsports all around the world, including the world-famous Le Mans 24-hour race, the Rally of Great Britain and numerous Grand Prix. I’ve also enjoyed a few laps around the Nürburgring in the company of my fellow teammate, Stu, which was an amazing experience.

First car: Austin Mini in various colours (due to multiple prangs!)
Favourite biscuit: Gingernuts
Fun fact: I completed the very first Brighton Marathon!

Kate

Head of Marketing

As Head of Marketing, my role sees me managing clients’ GoogleAds campaigns on a daily basis, alongside setting up tracking for new clients’ websites in order to measure performance. I also support various members of the 67 Degrees team, providing them with useful data and insights for our clients. No one day is the same, and with the digital marketing world being fast paced, there’s no chance of me getting bored of what I do!

My likes include Italian food and sunshine. Oh, and cars – I’ve owned 11 so far! My dislikes include rude people, plastic waste and seafood. My hobby used to be golf until my daughter arrived, and now there’s no such thing as a free weekend! My current hobby is sewing children’s clothes in the little spare time I do have!

First car: An L reg (1993) white Vauxhall Corsa.
Favourite biscuit: Bourbons
Fun facts: Rocky Marciano was my 8th cousin. I used to be a personal trainer and sports masseuse. I can still do the splits (but only when tipsy!)

Stu

Project Manager

As a bit of a petrolhead, ending up in the motor trade seemed like fate for me and after starting my first ‘proper job’ at AutoTrader over 10 years ago, I haven’t been able to escape the trade since! My role at 67 Degrees is that of Project Manager, with a key role in helping to deliver on both our clients and our own development requirements. Working closely with our developers and customers affords me a great overview of how technology can make a visible difference to our everyday lives.

A big Formula One and motorsport fan, you’ll often find me at Goodwood or at any circuit for that matter. I’ve been very fortunate to take part in several driving trips and have driven the likes of Silverstone, Spa-Francorchamps and the Nürburgring. Away from the world of motorsport I love being outdoors and am frequently out walking on the beautiful South Coast or up on the South Downs. I have also been known to run and cycle (really should do more of that) and have completed half and full marathons in the past.

First car: MG ZR, I loved that car, it was finished in the rare Le Mans metallic green too.
Favourite biscuit: Biscoff if I’m feeling indulgent, though you cannot go wrong with a Malted Milk.
Fun fact: Mike Brewer sang me Happy Birthday in front of around 500 people, twice!

Billy

Creative Marketing Manager

Hi! 😊

I’m the person behind our social media and all our videos…

My role at 67 is extremely varied – One week I could be helping with running our client’s social media accounts, to the next week flying up to Aberdeen to film footage for our client’s websites.

My day to day job is so creative and I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else, I’ve had some clients call me a wizard – not sure if that’s because of my marketing work, or because I look like Harry Potter?….as cheesy as it, 67 is my second home and I LOVE IT!

First car: A Silver VW GOLF
Favourite biscuit: Fox’s Chunkie (God Tier)
Fun fact: I was in Dream Team on Sky One!

Chez

PR Manager

As the 67 Degrees chatterbox, PR comes naturally to me…

I promote our services to the market and maximise opportunities to get us seen and heard on a local and national platform.

But it’s not just about our own brand, I also provide PR support and content writing services to our customers; be it producing engaging blog articles, or creating appealing award-winning submissions.

As a people person, I love the variety that naturally comes with the job supporting all aspects of the business.

When I’m not at 67 Degrees, you’ll more than likely find me sporting a pair of jodhpurs and horse riding across the South Downs…tally ho!

First car: An emerald green P-reg Vauxhall Corsa which was my pride and joy at the time!
Favourite biscuit: The trusty bourbon.
Fun fact: I was once serenaded by the legendary Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters when he sang ‘Learn to Fly’ acoustically to myself and a handful of other very lucky fans.

Callum

Marketing Executive

At 67 Degrees my role is to support marking activities for our clients. My day consists of writing blog posts, creating eye-catching social media adverts, and managing organic social media content. I also take up the (un)official role of reminding the team they aren’t as young as they once were — the world’s moved on from quoting TV shows from the 1700s. Outside the office, I prioritise keeping active by attending the gym and taking any opportunity I can to escape the UK, having previously worked abroad in Amsterdam and taking a cheeky “workcation” in Turkey. I’m also a big Brighton and Hove Albion fan.

First car (and only car): Black Vauxall Corsa
Favourite biscuit: Fox’s Golden Crunch Creams
Fun fact: During my gap year I travelled to 11 different countries

Charlene

Clients Service Manager

My role at 67 Degrees involves working alongside Susie and Stu to make sure our clients are looked after, and that we provide the best level of service out there. I also work closely with the sales team, making sure processes are in place and that everything is running smoothly. I absolutely love my job – working at 67 Degrees is amazing!

I’m the proud Mum of a little boy who loves anything related to vehicles, so as you can imagine, Mum’s the coolest because she works at 67 Degrees! I’m an exercise junkie, and love CrossFit, running, and swimming.

First car: Green Peugeot 106
Favourite biscuit: Hobnob
Fun fact: I’ve ridden an ostrich in South Africa!

Jack

SEO Manager

I started off in SEO many years ago after realising that Beach Lifeguarding wasn’t a long term career that paid the bills (I do miss the tan though!) My specialism is in technical SEO, identifying and fixing issues and building strategies to help our great clients get further up the rankings and to sell more cars!

I’ve got a young daughter, so most of my time is spent building forts or pretending to be an aeroplane! If I do get a rare spare 5 minutes, I’ll either be surfing or working on our house which we are currently refurbishing.

First car: VW Polo 1.4 in Blue with an Air Filter to make it sound 100 times faster than it was.
Favourite biscuit: Chocolate Bourbon.
Fun fact: I volunteer for the ambulance service, responding to local 999 calls so you may see me running off to help someone during the day!

Rafal

Platform Developer

I think I need AI machine learning to help me write my bio!

I’ve been part of the 67 Degrees team for a few years now. I’m happy to class myself as a gear in this smooth-running engine as part of the development team.

Prior to this role, I’ve gained development experience in projects relating to banking, transportation and logistics.

In my personal life I like to create solutions for dev-based issues; this includes projects involving microcontrollers… Right now I’m working on improving smart features in my house.

First car: Fiat Seicento
Favourite biscuit: Jam filled butter cookies
Fun fact: I’m a former acoustic guitar musician

Louise

Platform Developer

I am part of the front-end dev team designing and building the sites; I love doing what I do. I remember the first time I wrote some code and saw the results appear on a web page. It was like magic, and I still feel like that today.

My best day would be eggs for breakfast, followed by a yoga session, then off for a country walk with my husband and two kids. Home via the beach for a swim (seasonal; I’m not a winter swimmer!) and then a yummy dinner. Evening would be a music gig in Brighton seeing someone new and exciting, or a film, sofa, blankets and family.

First car: VW Polo – I loved that car. She was called Florence.
Favourite biscuit: Chocolate Round, or a Chocolate Hobnob.
Fun fact: I nearly died cycling down the death road in Bolivia.

Sean

Front-end Web Developer

I’m a Front end Developer at 67 Degrees with over 10 years experience designing and building websites. During this I’ve worked both in-house and within an agency setting.

I grew up in front of my Pentium III computer, and never quite found the logoff button! More recently, I cherish time away from the screen and enjoy the great outdoors and visiting new places. I’m an avid fan of Liverpool FC and enjoy anything tech, science and engineering related.

First car: Mitsubishi FTO
Favourite biscuit: Fox’s Golden Crunch Creams
Fun fact: I’m half South African

Ade

SEO Manager

I began working in the digital world many years ago when I was managing a sales team for a publishing company, and moved further and further into online marketing, specialising in SEO quite a few years ago. SEO is such a powerful marketing channel but one that is often done really badly; I’m passionate about making SEO transparent and something everyone can understand.

I’m not one for sitting around! This means I’m normally surfing, riding my motorbike or downhill mountain biking if I am not with my family or working. I love craft beer and am unlikely to say no to a nice bottle of wine either. I absolutely love animals and wildlife in general so don’t be surprised if I get distracted by a passing Red Kite or Lapwing. I am a huge sci-fi and horror fan both in movies and books and love a bit of gaming too!

First car: MK2 Ford Fiesta Popular Plus 1.1 in Red (which I embarrassingly fitted a racing steering wheel too!)
Favourite biscuit: Any kind of cookie covered in chocolate!
Fun fact: In my previous life I was the frontman in a punk band that toured the UK and Europe, did 3 albums and played live on Radio 1 at Maida Vale once.

Phil

Chief Canine Officer

If you visit the 67 Degrees office, it’s my voice you’re likely to hear first, as I’m in charge of meet and greet! Though I’m on the team for my speed and ferocity (I’ll outrun any living creature and destroy any toy you give me), I’m needy at heart, and I love a cuddle. I’m pretty fond of sleeping, eating literally anything, and lots of licking too, much to my owner’s disgust. I enjoy a walk on my lunch break, but only when the sun shines – wet paws aren’t my thing!

Favourite animal to chase: Cats
Favourite biscuit: Any!
Favourite toy: A leather football. Preferably a size 5

James

Junior Developer

I work on the backend development team that manages the databases and information that feed the client websites. My official role is Junior PHP Engineer, so I do whatever the team needs as I learn more about the codebase at 67 Degrees!I am a former geography teacher that loves to travel, been to over 50 countries so far! Very excited to make this transition to the tech industry having completed the School of Code bootcamp. I love board game evenings with friends, getting to lots of live music gigs and comedy shows around Brighton and watching football. A pretty odd interest is my collection of 50p coins!

First car: Vauxhall Corsa (sadly no longer with us)
Favourite biscuit: Chocolate hobnob – the perfect biscuit
Fun fact: I was once a UK National Champion in the incredible sport of Ultimate Frisbee
